Supported Wallet Spotlight: Eternl on depouch

Eternl on depouch DEX
Your Cardano wallet can be the starting point for exploring other blockchain ecosystems.
Eternl is a non-custodial Cardano wallet for managing ADA and Cardano native assets and connecting to decentralized applications. With Eternl supported on depouch DEX, you can swap ADA from Cardano into all the other cryptocurrencies supported on our platform.
That includes swaps such as:
- ADA to Bitcoin (BTC) on the Bitcoin network.
- ADA to Ethereum (ETH) on the Ethereum network.
- ADA to USDT on a supported destination network of your choice.
There is no depouch trading account to create or fund, and no KYC onboarding. As a DEX you simply connect Eternl, choose what you want to receive, and enter your destination address.
Eternl handles the outgoing Cardano transaction. Your swapped cryptocurrency is delivered to an address on its destination network. For example, an ADA-to-BTC swap sends Bitcoin to your Bitcoin address, while an ADA-to-ETH swap sends ETH to your Ethereum address.
You only need to connect the wallet you are sending from. The receiving wallet is specified by its address, so it can be any wallet.
Connect Your Ledger to Eternl
If your ADA is secured by a Ledger hardware wallet, you can connect that account to Eternl and use it on depouch.
Eternl provides the wallet interface and connection to the DEX, while your Ledger signs the outgoing Cardano transaction. Your Ledger account’s private keys remain on the device, and you approve transactions using the hardware wallet.
You do not need to transfer ADA into a separate hot wallet account before swapping.
For a desktop setup, follow these steps:
- Install Eternl. Visit the official Eternl website and install its browser extension.
- Prepare your Ledger. Use Ledger Wallet to update your device firmware and install or update the Cardano app. Close the Ledger Wallet when you are ready to connect through Eternl.
- Connect the device. Plug your Ledger into your computer using USB, unlock it, and open the Cardano app on the device.
- Pair it with Eternl. Open Eternl, choose the option to add a wallet, and select the hardware wallet pairing option for Ledger. Follow the prompts to connect your hardware wallet.
- Select your Cardano account. Complete the pairing process and let the account synchronize. Check that you have selected the account holding the ADA you want to swap.
Keep your Ledger seedphrase offline. Pair the device through Eternl’s hardware wallet option. Never enter your Ledger recovery phrase into Eternl, depouch, or another website.
Swap from Cardano with Eternl
Once Eternl is ready, you can start your swap on depouch. The same process works the same with a hot Eternl account or any other connected harware wallet.
- Connect your wallet. Go to depouch.com, click Connect Wallet, select Cardano, and choose Eternl. Approve the connection in Eternl.
- Choose your swap. Select Cardano (ADA) as the cryptocurrency you are swapping from, then choose the cryptocurrency and network you want to receive.
- Enter the amount and destination. Enter how much ADA you want to swap and paste the receiving address for your chosen destination network.
- Review the swap. Check the destination address, selected networks, expected output, fees, and slippage settings before confirming.
- Sign the transaction. Review the request in Eternl. If you are using Ledger, keep it connected with the Cardano app open, then review and approve the transaction details on the device. With a regular Eternl account, authorize the transaction in the wallet.
- Track and receive. Follow the swap’s progress on depouch. Once it completes, check the receiving wallet on the destination network for your swapped assets.
